Maths

Maths helps children to make sense of the world around them through developing their ability to calculate, to reason and to solve problems. It enables children to understand and appreciate relationships and pattern in numbers and in their everyday lives.

We use the National Curriculum and Early Years Foundation Stage Early Learning Goals to plan our curriculum. We also use the single age planning (KS1) and the mixed aged planning (KS2) from the White Rose maths hub.

Termly assessments are completed to assess whether the children are working below, at or above age-related expectations. These assessments are also used to provide a Gap analysis so we can see which parts of the maths curriculum we need to re-visit and re-teach.
