Pupil Voice

What do our children say?

Pupil Voice Questionnaire

At Ivegill we truly value the thoughts and opinions of all of the children and there are a number of ways in which children can contribute to make our school the best it can be. These include ...

Student Leadership Team

The Student Leadership team is made up 5 children. Children from across the school are selected to represent the school. The children are encouraged to make decisions, plan and organise fund raising activities and make suggestions that will help to improve our school even further. Each year group vote for their representative following the presentation of a speech.

Our Student Leadership Team for 2022/23 are:

  • Year 2 - Seth
  • Year 3 - Roan
  • Year 4 - Ivy
  • Year 5 - Julian
  • Year 6 - Emily

Emily and Julian presented to the school's Governing Body to inform them of the role of the Student Leadership Team. Please see their presentation below.

Buddies

Year 6 are ‘buddied’ with a Reception child for the start of the Autumn Term. They act as a friend and role model for the Reception child. They sit each other at lunchtime and the Year 6 supports their Reception Buddy during breaktimes when needed.

Worship Committee

The Worship Committee is made up of a group pupils who were selected after completing an application form. Their main responsibility is to help to plan assemblies and worship. They are also responsible for looking after our school prayer tree. During this term we will be helping to plan, prepare and lead our Community Celebrations. As well as this, we are thinking about how Collective Worship is led and how we can help our whole school to develop Collective Worship within class bubbles.

Our Worship Committee for 2022 are:

  • Gabriela, Poppy, Asher, Alexia, Olly, Sienna, Ella and Petal

School Dinners Group

The SDG meet with Mrs Forster, the school cook, to review the menus and make suggestions to ensure that the school lunch team know the children’s views.

Librarians

The library is recently refurbished and is well stocked. It provides reading and reference material for all ages. One of the ideas from the Student Leadership Team was to implement 'Mini-Librarians'. These operate under the watch of Emily form the SlT and help manage the library with the support of Mrs Johnson. There are four librarians who are randomly selected after they put themselves who share the task of keeping the library tidy, scanning loan books and displaying recommended books.
